A first look at your relationship dynamic

Worksheet: 5 questions for orientation

Give the questions a little time. It can help to answer them separately first and then compare what each of you noticed. Often the repeating pattern becomes clearer simply by talking about it this way.

This worksheet is meant as a conversation prompt – not as a test or diagnosis.

01

What do you seem to argue about — and what might it be about underneath?

For example: being seen, safety, closeness, freedom, reliability or appreciation.

02

What usually happens when one of you seeks closeness or clarification?

Who moves toward whom? Who becomes louder, quieter, more factual or withdraws?

03

What do you do when you do not feel seen, understood or safe?

Try to observe your reaction first, without judging it.

04

What sequence repeats even when the topic itself changes?

If you described it as a short scene: what happens first, and what comes next?

05

What would you wish for if, for a moment, it was not about who is right?

A wish can be a useful clue to what may be missing underneath the conflict.

If you would like support with this

In an initial conversation we can look together at the pattern that is emerging and what a useful next step might be.
